Looking For Low Price Car Insurance Is Painless

By Andy Darwinson

There is always low price car insurance out there which you can use regardless of the vehicle you drive or what your driving record looks like. Of course, if you drive a brand new Hummer and have multiple speeding tickets on your record you will pay more than would a driver with a clean record and an older, less expensive car - but this does not mean you cannot save money on your insurance. By comparing the rates from different companies online, you can find low price car insurance which can help you to save.

If you ask your insurance agent if it was possible to pay less than the high premiums you currently have and they are unable or unwilling to help you, then you should look for a better insurance policy. There are many websites which allow you to gather multiple insurance quotes for no cost in a matter of minutes.

About a month before your renewal date or as soon as you receive your new premium, look for your policy and copy the amount of coverage you have. There's no need to read the entire policy, the coverage details are normally on the first page. Most of the time, the amount of money you pay for each type of coverage is also on that page.

Check for the deductibles in both the comprehensive and collision area. These might be the same but today, many reps use larger deductibles on the collision coverage since it tends to be more expensive.

Also look at the liability limits of your policy. These may be listed as single or split liability limits. Split limits denote the amount that the insurer will pay out in the event that you are liable for an accident. For instance, if you see that your limit is 100/300/50, this means that they will pay up to $100,000 to any person injured in the accident, up to a limit of $300,000 total for all persons injured. The 50 means that the insurer will pay for up to $50,000 of property damage caused in an accident for which you are liable.

Single liability limits are much simpler. There is just one figure, say $300,000. This is the amount that your insurance company will pay for all injuries and property damage caused by an accident for which you are liable.

Your policy should also contain items such as medical payments, reimbursement for towing and rentals and limits for uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. This is important coverage - it pays for injuries sustained by you and your passengers if you are in an accident involving an uninsured or underinsured driver.

After you have looked over all of the important figures listed on your policy, the rest is pretty easy. All you have to do is go visit one or more of the sites which allow you to receive multiple car insurance quotes at once and enter the information you have gathered from your policy. You can then compare the quotes you see to find low priced car insurance. - 29952
